I'm still a sophomore, so I know I have some time, but one thing I've decided is that I'm going away from the 100 inches of annual snow. My GPA is a 3.4 and when I was in 8th grade I got a 1090 on the old SAT test. I'm looking for a four year school at any level, D-3 through D-1, that has a student body with a similar academic average than mine, but preferably slightly lower. My definition of warm weather is anywhere below the Mason-Dixon Line including Ohio and Pennsylvania. I'm going to continue my search, but if anyone has any helpful information I'd be glad to hear it.

Upstate, I have a suggestion. Go to http://www.collegeboard.com. There you can enter all your criteria for college (location by state or region, enrollment by size and ***, average sat scores, cost, admissions requirements, sports available, etc.) and narrow your search as much as you like. Just click on the "college matchmaker" link on the left side of the home page and it will bring up the pages to select your preferences. If you know what you want, it's pretty easy to narrow your search to a few schools. Good luck.

Well, Ohio and PA are certainly not below the Mason Dixon line, and no one would confuse schools there with being "warm weather schools"!

I think if you browse this website enough you can see many previous discussions on topics similar to this. Good luck with your college search!

Coming from Rochester, any place but here with less snow is satisfactory, that's why I added OH and PA.

EDIT: Thanks for all the help. It really wasn't as much of a case of narrowing my search as beginning it. I was surprised with my results in that I think my best options might be closer to home than I thought. For each division 1, 2, and 3 respectively, I like the idea of attending Xaiver U. in Cincinnati, Florida Southern College or Ashland U. in OH, and TX Lutheran. Thanks especially to Baseball Buzz for recommending College Matchmaker.

Take a look in Texas & consider Hardin-Simmons University.

For Division III schools in the south w/ great academics, I would look at all of the schools in the SCAC (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference). www.scac-online.org Schools include Trinity (TX), Southwestern (TX), Rhodes (TN), Millsaps (MS), Hendrix (AK), Austin College (TX), Oglethorpe (GA), Centre (KY), DePauw (IN), University of the South (TN), and Colorado College (CO), though Colorado College does not sponser baseball. On the west coast, look at the schools in the SCIAC conference. I agree w/ the previous posting to retake those SAT's a few more times and try your best to get those scores up!! Good luck!!!
