Ok here it is...We have a nice Easton Bat bag that has been on the patio in between hurricanes. It is not wet but full of "lint" or just saw dust from all the work we have done around here. I want to put it in the washer but not sure if that is the best way. It is mainly just really dusty from being on the patio....any thoughts about putting it in the washer?

Thanks.....

I think how you clean it will depend on what it is made of. Even if it is strictly heavy fabric, I don't think I would put it in the washer because it might lose a lot of its stiffness. I would just vacuum inside and out really really well. If there is soil on it, I think I would hand wash it with a good stiff brush and let it air dry. I would use a mild detergent, perhaps even a Woolite type cleaner. Just some thoughts.
I've never done the batting bag in the washer thing,...was worried about the aggitator doing damage,...but I have in the past, hung my sons bag up,..on like a clothes line and power hosed it with the garden hose. Let drip dry! ( Again,..make sure no cardboard bottom. I think most Easton bags have a vinyl plastic type bottom,..but it would be safer to check first! )
I like the idea of vacumning it first too,..you probably will come out with better results.

Then again,...all hard work on the mommas part will be forgotten the first second they set foot in the dugout! ha! Big Grin

Another key word here keeps popping up in my head while we talk about this: Fabreeze Fabreeze Fabreeze! ha!
