Guys, maybe a stupid question but just curious...

There have been many threads about white gloves, white sleeves, etc. My question is this: If a pitcher can't wear white sleeves or have white on the glove (technically at all though I know small things sometimes are allowed) then how can they wear a white hat?

While I have no idea if the umpire was correct or not, the interpretation that was given to me was that white was perfectly legal as long as it was part of the standard uniform being worn by a team...still no long white sleeves, but white pants, jerseys / vests / short sleeve undershirts and hats were all fine if that was the standard uniform. Kinda makes sense that way I guess...seems to be a good reason to go with a white uniform!
