The weather turned the Nashua Babe Ruth season upside down. The season was to end on 6/22 and they didn't crown a champ till 7/6. Teams had 3-4 games to make up. Usually the top 4 teams make the playoffs but this year there were soo many make-up games that they just ended the season and seeded everyone 1-10 and ran a 10 team double elimination tourney. Have to admit that was pretty cool way to do it as some of the lower seeds made some noise and the #1 seed tumbled. Even those games got pushed around due to the weather.

My son is on the 14U All-star team and they have had 8 practices cancelled due to the rain and have only had 3 practices to date. We lost two scrimmages yesterday to the rain too. The only good thing is that all the other teams that will be in the districts are probably going through the same thing!!

Odds are after this cruddy weather pattern finally breaks you'll probably have incredible weather for your fall showcase league. I'll be going to my son's football games in november wearing shorts...lol

The good ones play all-stars which can go into august if you get through states. For most of our all-star team we also play AAU on some weekends in the summer.

I guess it ends so early to leave room to run the district, state & regional tournaments by early August so Babe Ruth can run their world Series Tournaments for each age group.

Wish it started later and ended later like SR Babe Ruth as many of the pitchers can't pitch during 1/2 the season as school ball is still going on.
