Tensions are at the breaking point here in H-town as the Artic blast inches closer and closer. Rolling blackouts. Metro staging buses to serve as warming stations throughout low income areas.

TV weather folks are having coniption fits.
1/2 to 2" of snow are forecast and people are being warned to cover their plants and for godsakes wrap their pipes.

Officials are reccomending that citizens hunker down and "shelter in place".

Baseball practice has not yet been canceled.

More as developments unfold...

unless you have those prized parking lot tickets

Those rolling blackouts didn't work to well yesterday here in Dallas, what was supposed to be a 15 minute rolling black out turned into 8 hrs with no electricity at my home......brrrrr

I heard Colin Cowherd say on his radio show today that this was worse in Dallas/Ft. Worth than in Connecticut!

4 separate storms of a foot+ of snow. 2 1/2 inches of ice yesterday. Haven't had above freezing temps since November, and last Sunday the wind chill was 24 below. Ahhh New York state at it's finest...we might not have the most talented baseball players in the country, but no one can question our mental toughness or dedication to the game!

I'll be enjoying that 72 degree Super Bowl from the couch next to the fireplace, probably after shoveling out more of the snow they're calling for this weekend.

Could you cut me a slice of air and forward it to me. I'm not being ignorant. I lived in CA (mostly LA ... Redondo Beach and Agoura Hills) for twenty-two years.

Skiing Sunday! New Years and Super Bowl Sunday are two of the best weekend ski days for short lift lines.
