Cox won the Beach regular season championship with a convincing 11-0 win over Kempsville. Big day for seniors Richie Salter and Austin Erb. Salter pitched the 5 inning shutout for his 9th win against no defeats and contributed to his cause with a 3 run HR. I'm not sure who will earn player of the year honors in the Beach, but Richie made a strong case for the honor today. Austin Erb made the final regular season game of his HS career memorable as well with two towering HR's and a single

Senior Matt Batten pitched the Bruins final regular season game. He went the distance striking out 12, walking two and yielding one hit. Senior Jordan Kidd had three hits, and Shane Johnsonbaugh, Nick Thompson, Brandon Doggett, CJ McAndrews and Garrett Brooks had two hits each.

Western Branch finished fourth in the District and should play Indian River next week.
