Salem-3 PA-6

Heck of a game to watch

Salem got ahead with 2 in the first with a lead off single....followed up by a stand up triple...followed by another hard hit ball over the center-fielder...later PA came back to score 2 and the game stayed like that for a few innings...After Salem brought in a new pitcher, PA hit 2 solo homers to go ahead by 2...salem then came back to put 1 up to close the the margin to 1 run... PA later scored 2 more to seal the deal

A few bad calls again today from beach district umpires that could have potentially changed the game a little...disappointing

Salem put up a good fight today against a very good PA team...i think Many people were surprised!

What happened elsewhere around the beach?

By the way, you can not blame umpires for losses. That is an excuse and athletes should deal with the fact that humans make mistakes. I am sure there were other spots in the game where your team should have (and didn't) score runs, made errors that cost runs, or did get hits when needed. That is the beauty of baseball. Baseball is a TEAM sport and individual players ruin team unity.
im not blaming it on the umpires that we lost...we didnt make errors...but we did miss opportunities to score runs...PA played a good game...im not taking credit away from them..but umpires are paid to do their job...they need to do it well and not just make calls because they want to go home because the street lights are coming on...
ok the incident was overheard by other players on our team where the umpire said that " the security lights are on at the school we dont want to end this due to darkness" well if u dont want to then dont let us play itout! thats how i feel im backing my teamate 100% and u are very correct when u say no1 can blame an umpire for the games simply let them takethe game we had in our hands thats all and for the last post there is no need to attack a person on here hey mayB he doesnt like some calls o well thats life and hes not scared to state that calls were wrong and id like to congradulate PA on a great game they battled and came out on top good for them as for us we move on and learn

Who is attacking whom? A few bad calls now becomes.....

Quote 2- ok the incident was overheard by other players on our team where the umpire said that " the security lights are on at the school we dont want to end this due to darkness"

Did you want the umps tp stop the game too soon? It would seem the umps were trying to make the best decision possible regarding darkness, allowing each to the most opportunities to produce.

I will not tolerate umpire bashing.
Im sorry if i offended anybody...it was a tough loss...we had a very good team in the palm of our hands and we let them slip a way like sand between our fingers and its frustrating...we all make mistakes...players, coaches umpires, fans, ALL OF US...we have moved on as a team, and we are over it. We are not dwelling on this...its over and we are headed over to ocean lakes friday to play again! live and learn!

AGAIN IM NOT OUT TO BASH ANYONE...AND IM SORRY FOR WHAT I SAID IF ANYONE TOOK IT OFFENSIVELY!
Pirate Fan, Sounds like this hit home. The kid is only giving his opinion. Coaches get bashed all of the time and they don't cry about it. Umpires are out there and get paid good money for umpiring a varsity game (about $65 for a 2-1/2 hour game). That's a lot more than a HS coach makes. If your getting paid to do a job you need to do it right. Umpires face no consequences for doing a bad job. An umpire can do a bad job game after game and year after year and if your one of Mr Brown's favorites you will still get varsity games. There needs to be accountability. You don't have to tolerate it, just don't read it.
