GF 4 Bethel 1

Solo HR put Bethel up in the 4th. Held the lead until the 7th when GF put up 4 runs. Obenour doubled off the fence with 1 out. IBB to Bullock followed by RBI singles from Bigbie and Luedtke. Also 2 squeeze bunts put down in the inning from Ogden and Johnson to score the other 2 runs. Perdue went all 7 for the win for GF.

Hickory 4, Gloucester 1

WB beats OS 5-4.

NR over Heritage 12-0.

So how did this one go down?  It had to be pure drama in the 7th. That's how it always seems to be with those two!

This time drama in the sixth. Westernbranch up 5-1 and it seemed Klan ran out of gas.Although Smith did have some hits early as well.At 5-4 with two outs western branch center fielder thru out the tying run with bang bang play at the plate. 7th pretty uneventful. Hats off to Coach Bowles at Smith he keeps them playing and has really turned that program around since he has been there!!

GB over Menchville 9-7. 

What's up with Western Branch's one run games.  If I am counting correctly, they have won four one run games in a row?  Oscar Smith accounts for two of WB's seven one run victories (if I am counting correctly).  Hats off to OS for their continued improvement and WB's will to win.

Indian River 12  Hampton 2

This isn't the WB team like last year.   Not as offensively loaded but still very good.   Defense is shaky at times.  Pitching has been better than I thought it would be this year.  Yes...close games.  But they still WIN.

Is the Hickory v GB effectively (or nearly) a Conference Championship game?  I don't think either has lost an in conference game.

looks like a championship game.i cant remember if the reg. season champ gets automatic bid.last games are GB @Gloucester 5-20 and Hickory @ Warwick 5-19

Curious to see who pitches for Great Bridge. Not familiar with the rules but most of their pitchers pitched this week because of pitching struggles.

16-2 hickory over great bridge in 5 innings. Lack of pitching and 5 or 6 errors hurt great bridge.

NR 11-1 over Phoebus.
