Don't read too much into this because the sample size if far too small to be statistically significant but I went through the pitcher's velocities at the National and at the sunshine showcases since they were only a week apart and compared the velocities.

I found 5 cases from the Sunshine Northeast showcase and average velocity was unchanged with the biggest increase between the sunshine and the national being 2 mph and the biggest decrease being 2 mph. The other 3 were unchanged.

I found 3 cases from the Sunshine East showcase and the average velocity increased 1/3 mph with 1 pitcher increasing 1 mph between the SE and the national and the other two remaining the same.

I found 1 case from the Sunshine South and the velocity remained the same.

I found 4 cases from the Sunshine West showcase and the velocities increased by 1, 2, 2 and 5 mph for an average increase of 2.5 mph. The pitcher whose velocity increased 5 mph had a max velocity of 89 at the Sunshine West even though I saw him hit 90 on Savage's gun. But I only saw him hit that velocity once and he didn't look like he was trying to light up the gun that day.

Now I know the guns at the Sunshine West were not reading slower than the pitchers were throwing because the kids were throwing right about what one would expect based on recent performances and the increases from the CA Underclass were right about what one would expect.
