Umpire unfortunately (IMHO) squeezed the DR pitcher in the 3rd inning, which helped WS score 4 runs w/o a hard hit -- which helped put the game away. That said, Wahl was on fire from the 4th inning on, so it may not have mattered.

BTW, I was standing right behind the backstop with a great view.

BTW2, Several nice double plays in this game.
Although an NR guy, my comment, IMO opinion was unbiased. I thought the ump did a great job, except for missing a few hard breaking curves in the 3rd inning from Griffith. They were high calibre, sharp breaking 12-6 type curves that were well beyond your typical high school curve ball. I thought the ump just miss saw (and called) them.

IMO again, Orlan was just off. I did not see him squeezed in any way. The article from Digital Sports talks to the grand slam. Having Tobin down 0-1 and throwing a fastball middle in, with the bases loaded? This is mis-reporting, because it makes it seem like the pitcher wanted to throw the pitch in this spot and the player just hit it out, which I'm sure that wasn't the case. On this day, Orlan was missing his spots.
I agree with Superball. The umpire I thought was pretty consistent, and his zone was pretty small. I think that's why there were 9 runs in the first two innings.

Wahl was leaving his fastball up in the zone and the Deep Run hitters were on it early in the game. He was able to make some adjustments, whereas Orlan didn't get the opportunity to. Orlan couldn't get the breaking ball over consistently for strikes.
