DevilMan......

What happened to your stud pitchers Pilcher and Binder???? Talk about choke!!! applaude Kurash is the only bright spot you guys have, and he can be beat. Give it up, your best shot was this past season. Besides, you have to many egos to feed in your lineup. Not a team group.

huskies3b10.....

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, be nice now! Both of you two players know that this season is going to be fairly equal in the WSS. You know that you need pitching and defense to be the top dog. Big Grin
Who do you have to replace Berger, Froelich and Dennehey??? Tell me, where do you guys think GBW and DGN fit into this senario??? Do you honestly believe what DevilMan is saying?????? Come on now, LT is going to roll over for your two teams???? I DON"T THINK SO!!!!

Smile
boomer, you're wrong. pilcher wasn't that committed because he was already set to play fball at u of i. binder had a good year. he was 8-0. this years team has the heart and better bats. furthermore the pitching is improved as kurash leads the team as one of the best pitchers in the state. oak park's pitching isn't where it was last year, and they don't have any offensive studs either. fratto and haggins are solid, but nothing overwhelming.
i'd tap that.....

I agree completely with your analysis, but DevilMan seems to have all of the answers. I know he likes to "rattle cages" but you can't start the trash talking, it will only hurt you.

nickyk.....

If you have ever read any of my posts on these boards before you will understand where I'm coming from....thinking that some team has everything locked-up before the games are even played is ridiculous! As even you admitted. Your a very good pitcher with a lot of 'upside' and the players that do work harder will usually come out on top.

Your two pitchers, and yourself, were considered tough to beat. You held up your part of the deal, not taking away from Pilcher and Binders talent. AT LT, we thought we had a very good chance to beat Froelich and Berger from OPRF, and not Dennehey. The opposite came true. Berger was dominating, and Froelich and his off-speed stuff really did the job. Dennehey seemed to be easy in comparison, not taking away from his talent either.

This next season is going to be interesting, and painful as well!!! Watching all of our WSS teams competing the last three years, knowing that all of kids that my son and I know will be on the diamonds for the last time before college, or the pros, is going to be somewhat sad. It's been great baseball that will be missed!
LT was a 3 man team last year - Sorce, Brew, and IMHO their most important player Kehr. All three are gone and you can't replace impact players like that. OPRF with Haggins and Fratto and the Devils with Morse, Nicholas, and Nick are the premier players in the league (no disrespect to GW and DGN) - and players win games. And I think the Devil and Huskie pitching is vastly underrated, and LT is overrated.

Now for you Boomer, I understand you are the designated defender for LT and I can respect the fact that you don't agree with my opinion. But trying to argue with kids to get your way is childish - are you LT people so insecure that you have to go after kids?
Boomer:

As a former coach of both Eric and Doug, I don't think of the word "choke" when I think about those young men. Eric certainly had a very impressive year in 2005. As for Doug, I will bet you a dollar to a dime that quite a few D1 college programs would have loved him on the mound for them.

Most important of all these are quality kids.
Pretty small of you to pick on kids. It is o.k. to pick on me if you choose...I am not 18/19 years old.

You and Devilman are fighting about talent and busting high school players abilities, when if you step back for a second, any player who make a program such as OPRF, LT, Hinsdale or others should be given a pat on the back. Given the size of those schools and the talent level involved, it is a great accomplishment.

Also, unless you attended every game of a specific player it would be pretty hard to determined what contributed to their pitching, hitting or fielding success or failure.

The conference will be as competitive as always....if you know for certain who is going to capture the title please forward tonights
winning lotto numbers.
DevilMan.....

You have finally decide to act grown-up enough to sound like you have some intelligence. The defender of LT, your dam right I'll defend LT. I've been quite enough the last few years listening to all the garbage about how LT did this, and LT did that, that you Hinsdale people keep shooting your mouths off with. Why don't you put something on this message board that is constructive and interesting. "LT will choke, and Hinsdale and OPRF will battle it out for the conference title". Defender yes! Childish no! The only time we hear from you is when you decide to stick your nose out of your hole and start some trouble.

I can deal with opinions and criticism, but don't start the trash talk.
Isc59....

I can sit here all day and debate the meaning of life, but it would take to long. Your comments, in response to mine, are appreciated. Truly I meant no harm, but I will not apologize for what I said. As I mentioned in the post above, I have listened to so much garbage on this boards the last few years maligning our team and some of its players, that I really think the cheap shots are to frequent and to often.

Banter between two players about their perspective teams is one thing, but when you decide to introduce another into the mix for no apparent reason, well after time it just gets to be annoying. Am I being to sensative, maybe.

I was at the two games where Doug Pilcher and Eric Binder pitched against LT. Towering and intimidating figures to say the least. I know Eric personally, and met his dad once. Quality people. That is my opinion, if someone cares. The same was true for OPRF when we faced Dennehey and Berger, not thinking much of Froelich, and we were fooled. Again, not taking away from anyones talent since I was accused of being childish in response to someone saying that LT choked. I can say that some of those pitchers choked, can't I, since that term is easily thrown around by "KIDS", including me if you please!

Berger by far was the best pitcher of all six mentioned at that given time!!!! I have respect for all of the them, especially since my son played travel ball with Berger, and caught some bullpens for Binder and Dennehey at Strikes.

These 'boards' were fun at one time, not anymore. In less than a year my son will be in college, playing baseball. In a couple of years I, you and the rest of this group of posters will be gone from these boards and this won't matter. Stooping to an 18/19 year olds level, yeah, I can 'hang' with the best-of-'um, including you. I've always tried to be the voice-of-reason, or logic, but I guess it doesn't matter. I promise I won't pick on anyone anymore!!!
Boomer,

No need to debate but I think you missed by point and thats o.k. I never accused you of stooping to a 18/19 year old level. Rather, I have never been a big fan of adults slamming good kids. Eric and Doug along with the other 2005 players that I coached from Hinsdale Central were great kids and non deserving of such statements. And yes Nick, Charlie Binder is one of the nicest men I have ever meet.

Although it has been a while since I lasted posted, I thought that most people on this site felt or should know that L.T. is a potential state finalist every year. Top dogs normally catch a few flea flickers. Wear that flea collar with pride.

Remember, Boomer its your son's team and they will do just fine. He will fight for the conference title and possible more, finish his senior year, have a fun summer, move away next fall and next spring you could watch him play ball somewhere in a warmer climate. (Just booked my flight to Phoenix to watch some spring ball).

Thats all - good luck to LT - and DevilMan good luck to H.C. You sure know how to push the buttons. By the way who are "some of the top players in the conference?"
Well if the food fight is over and it's safe to walk around in here, I'd like to know who people think will step up this year. I won't talk about DGN because that's where my kid (an 08) goes.

LT has Weston & Corcoran, OPRF has Fratto & Cunningham, HC has Kurash & Morse, and GW has Boockford. Don't really know York or PW players.

Overall, the conference is one of the strongest in the state, IMO. Who are the guys who will step up with the studs and have an impact?

Mike F
