Don't know what you have been told so far. West Virginia Tech is in the beginning of some pretty significant changes. The baseball team is leaving Division II and going NAIA even though almost every other small college in West Virginia is Division II and plays in the West Virginia Conference. The pride of the school from an academic point of view is and for many years has been its engineering program. It has been recommended by a Committee that the engineering school be transfered to the Charleston area and housed in an old Technical Center for Union Carbide. The actual campus, including the engineering department, is presently located in Mongtgomery, WV some twenty or so miles away from Charleston. The President of the School has endorsed the Committee's recommendation. There was talk that West Virginia University would take over the campus and make it a branch. Now the West Virginia Legislature has gotten involved so who knows how it will all turn out.

If you have specific questions about the baseball team, you can pm or e mail me. A good friend of mine has a son that plays baseball there.

I'm looking for some insight into the program and the school, as well.

Why did WVU Tech move from DII to NAIA? Does this indicate lack of adminstrative support for the program?

If the Engineering department breaks off and moves to Charleston, does that spell doom for the remaining schools? I know the WVU Tech isn't Harvard, but is it credible (not trying to insult; hopefully you know what I mean)? Especially the Bus Admin department.

Any thoughts as to the outlook for the baseball program?

Thanks in advance. Please PM if you would prefer your opinions to remain private.
