Wow, take the Gma to watch some baseball...and come back to a suprise party. Why, thank you all. The good thoughts of our HSBBW friends are appreciated and noted. We are...graduated...guarded...awed...and very superstitious. As we all well know, the baseball Gods can be exceedingly kind as they were this week, but it is always best to remain humbled and gratified. We actutely understand the fleeting nature of athletic success.

Yes, MN Mom, there is a bigger story, many actually. And while contribution and quiet pride in process is our way,(we must have some Minnesota ancestors) out of respect to you and your efforts, as well as the other who have asked...I will fill in a little of this chapter. This particular chapter is a parable about the value of faith and hard work, about water and rocks...and a mom's good genes. This particular chapter set on a sunny day in the stands, with two parents and a recently widowed GMA watching the last few games play out, knowing full well how close the end is, drinking in every single last drop of what the game, the young man, and hard work have to offer...Then truely humbled by the baseball gods who have blessed us with family, friends, this trip, a great ride and a final flurry.

And about that bigger story...as some know, the two boys have spent their entire careers on the edge of baseball oblivion, having faced, and faced down with courage most all baseball doomsday scenerios...and a few opportunities. But that is a story for another time. Maybe after the last ball is struck, the uni is peeled off for the last time and we leave our scorebook in the stands and walk into the sunset...we will gather around the HSBBW camp fire for a case study and roasted marshmellows/smore's.
