I'm in the end of August the u18 Canadian Championship will be held in Trois-Rivieres QC... The will have team from all over the country 1 from each Province except the QC! There will have the Team Quebec but also the host team... Mine! But the question is ... is it a good idea to put an host team in a big championship like that... there will be in each team the best U18 ball player from the province... but in my team we can only take 4 more players from the province. Plus we're a U17 team :S ... Is there any way to win games against best players of the country... In the team theres maybe 4 guy that are good enough to play that championship! I'm just scare to get my *** kick by scores like 18-3 or 12-1 ! ! ! Is it good for the team (us) to play that championship even if we arent good enough and younger?

Yes ... it's very good for your team.

Every tournament gets host teams. American Legion even has it in their state tournaments.

What it will do is give you experience playing against the best and also give you exposure. If the best players are there, then the scouts will be there too.

There is absolutely NOTHING negative in this. Have a great time !!!!!
My son is playing right now on a host team in the western regional tournament for Little League Junior level (13-14).

The other teams are all state champion all-star teams from western states; my son's team is a good team that played together all summer in another league, but qualified for this tournament by also playing against other Little League Junior teams.

His team is very competitive; in fact appears to be one of the top four teams in the tourney. His team won its first game against Nevada 15-3, and plays Montana tomorrow.

So - host teams can be quite competitive in these tournaments.
