What all do you guys put pine tar on? I like to put it on my bat, and put tons of it on the bill of my helmet, and the front so I can get some whenever I need to. Not as much as Vlad Guerrero, but I like a good amount.
I am still trying to figure it all out--we used to use dirt and spit--- then came pine tar--then came batting gloves---why do you need batting gloves if you use pine tar--but then why not use spit and dirt like we used to do
People put pine tar on metal bats, why i dont know . maybe because they think its cool. The only valid reason i can see is to keep people like me from picking it up! lol.
That's half the reason I use it. Also because it's more fun, and I get a better grip because I like a smaller handle, and the leather grips are too thick, tape is much thinner, and just tape, doesn't give me a good grip, so I use tar. I hate it when people put tar on leather grips, that is stupid. I also use it on my woody. I don't put tape on it, just tar.
I do the same thing. I don't like the thick grip that came with it so I took it off and put tape around it. I don't know why but it feels ALOT better to me when im hitting. Ive never put pine tar on that though. The tape has always been enough for me. I don't use batting gloves either.
I wear batting gloves and the leather grip that comes with the bat. I havent owned a game bat in a couple of years. I have a BP bat that has a tapped grip. And i use my friends EXO which has the leather grip and no pine tar. I'll probably get an EXO for next season since i will be in college. I will leave it the way it is.
