easily??? Richland was tied for last in 5-5A this past year. If those two could have easily played varsity in 5-5A, they would have as RHS could have used them.

Looking forward to seeing them this spring, if they easily make it to varsity as soph's.

Ford plays on Mustangs-Sharp with young tychco...he is a BEAST.

Perhaps not, but the implication that varsity baseball is easy, like Art Class or my high school homecoming date junior year, is short-sighted.

I realize that RHS lost their coach right before the season and the interim guy probably didn't know all the players like he should, and these two boys might be the next two major leaguers to come out of Tarrant County, but freshman playing varsity ain't easy.

In this instance, Saying "it's easy" and saying they "could have easily played" are two entirely different things. Polk and Cotton could have made a different school's junior varsity or varsity easily. You could disagree with that statement but not unless you've seen them play.
My son freshman green team played against the Richland Rebel team this past spring. I saw two kids pitching very well against us. I know your guys are excited. But Southlake will have a solid baseball team in 2010.

And as a new guy coming from a program loaded with talent, he'll play them if they are that good.

And that is why the Richland fans are excited. In the past that would not have happened even if they were able to play JV are Varsity.
RebelCoach just registered July23, 2007. This was his first post. Is it possible he is the only one who knows if Polk and Cotton will play varsity next year?

In addition, if anyone knows how tough varsity baseball is in 5-5A it is Tychco. I’m sure he has a new perspective and is looking forward to a second year. 4A is just a faded memory now, isn’t it?

TB( oops,Beast)

I happen to have had my son play with these two kids in select and at Richland High and have watched them play with NorTex.I was at that game with East Cobb and I don't recall seeing you there! But from the comment you made I can tell you don't know anything about the East Cobb team. Not at all a Freshmen team but 85% Juniors who all played Varsity.Get your facts straight before shooting off that big mouth.By the way,how much Varsity experience does Little beast have? And don't lie because

Moderated, lets not talk badly about the kids on here

.And to maybe put an end to this thread where it started, the previous coaching staff's philosophy at Richland was that no Freshmen would play Varsity. That will all change with the hiring of Chuck Wells from Keller.
