I'm form Australia and don't understand all the terms you guys use soo go easy.

Im in Grade 12 (i'm 17 turning 18 in August) and would like to get a scholarship to a US college!

How do i chose which colleges to go to, in terms of baseball quality and coach quality?

How do i go about getting a scholarship?

What program should i choose?

Should i go to a junior (2year) or senior (4yr)?

any advice is appreciated!

El3ctro,
I have no idea why I’m responding to your post because I have no clue but I might be able to give you a starting point. I think I would contact the ACADEMIC counselors at your school to get information about what you have to do to become a student in the United States. Don’t let baseball cloud the issue at this point until you are sure you understand what it takes academically and diplomatically to become a student in the states and are on track to become a student. Once you understand those aspects and are confident you can qualify to become an academic student then I would assume you would seek out a college in the same manner a stateside student would ---- with the exception of you being able to “showcase” your talents. Maybe a good video would be a necessity and I would get as many letters of recommendation as possible because you are definitely handicapped by the great distance from the college.
My son’s roommate in spring training is from Sydney, Australia (Shane Benson) that signed out of high school so I would expect there are a few scouts around that could give you an evaluation. (see link below) Hopefully someone else can answer your questions much better than me.
