Son got invited by D2 school to watch college team play and to be given tour of their campus by one of their players. Does this mean anything? Could it be a show of interest in him as a player or is it just protocol of some coaches/colleges? They've had no significant correspondence with him up until now.

Anyone? Thanks.

It sounds like they saw your son somewhere or got his name somewhere and they have some level of interest.

You will find that the D2 schools will let the dust settle for the D1 prospects and start to hit the prospects who have not committed to a D1 school in their senior year.

If you have an interest in the school, you may want to pursue them.

Good Luck, enjoy the ride!

Always get your hopes up and return the inquiry with properly accumilated information. Hopefuly you have all the standard info ready, personal, academic and statistical. If not, get it all together so that your son's information can be confirmed and evaulated. Most of all he can be himself and state what his goals are with coach - personal interviews are very important - but always be honest within your own goals and expectations.
My son was personally asked during a campus visit to attend their prospect camp so they could evaluate him as a prospective recruit a 2 day camp, he has been asked by a couple other schools as well. how do you sort out whether they are sincere or just recruiting campers. With the coast of travel it is imposible to go to all.
