I know the whole shabang about leadership, being a teammate, and having a good attitude is crucial for a try-out in high school, but what is the coach looking for besides that?

- Hustle, Hustle, and More Hustle! Hustle out to your position. Hustle to first base on routine grounders. Hustle to your position(I know I said this but do it again!).
- Hitters play ! If you can flat out hit the ball you will be on the field.
- If you are a pitcher please throws strikes. Walks and Errors drive coaches nuts. Put the ball in play and your defense should be able to help you out.
- Attitude and make-up are weighed in heavily these days. Good attitude and coachable kid will get a spot going against a talented athlete with a horrible attitude.

Do everything with good mechanics(if you like to throw sidearm as an OF to your cutoff man,dont do it and throw properly)

agreed on all, sprint out to your position even between innings...you dont walk on a baseball field
