"Perry Hall

2007 record: 7-14

Coach Ross Butler's quote: "We have an improved attitude. I think we are a little more humble this year. I think we were too confident last year."

Breakdown: The biggest change for Perry Hall will be on the bench.

Elmer McCann will serve as assistant after working as the head coach for the past decade.

For Perry Hall to produce a winning season the offense must take a big step forward: The Gators' team batting average was a meager .233 last year.

"Scoring runs was our biggest problem," Butler said.

Some offensive leaders could emerge from a group of veterans, including junior shortstop Zack Fisher, senior center fielder Chris Thompson, sophomore catcher Zack Miller and junior third baseman Cameron DiGregorio.

Three players promoted from the JV, junior third baseman Zack Nowak and junior outfielders Brad Colton and George Grossnickle, hope to make significant contributions.

Perry Hall's well-armed pitching staff includes, besides DiGregorio and Fisher, seniors Nick Kuklane and Joe Nohe and junior Joe Walinski.

"Right now the pitching is a question mark, but it always seems to work out," Butler said.
