My son played D2 ball this year.  While occasionally he would face upper 80s or 90 the majority of pitching was 80-85 and relied on breaking stuff to get the out.  He was second on his team in hitting but did not have the offensive year he was expecting. This summer in a quality wood bat league he is routinely facing 90 mph pitching and is producing much more impressive numbers.  As a scout does this mean he "projects" better or is it relatively meaningless.  Thanks
