After not following HS baseball this season, I was surprised to see the PCA record. Looks like they have played 10 fewer games than everyone else and have far fewer wins than previous seasons. What is going on? This was the team that had Swagerty, Rupp, and many other very talented players a few years ago.

I don't think you can count on that kind of talent (Jordan Swagerty and Cameron Rupp) transferring in each year, if my memory serves me correct Swagerty transfered to PCA as a sophomore and Rupp transfered as a junior. I don't think you can count on that happening every year. I think the talent PCA currently has is comparable to the other teams in their district so they are probably where they should be now and there is parity in the district, I think the past with Rupp and Swagerty (as well as Hunter Hill) was an anomaly. Also, PCA was in a different TAPPS division back then, there were a few good teams in their division but also some teams that didn't match up well with PCA.

The only team I remember PCA playing that year that is from their current district was TCA. In the TCA/PCA game in the spring of 2007 TCA came out on top but it was not counted as an official game. The regularly scheduled official game was rained out but the make-up game was treated as a scrimmage.

There are some great players that come through TAPPS but you usually don't have several there at one time on the same team like the 2007 PCA team since you are pulling from a small pool of student athletes.

True...a lot of close losses this year. Several key seniors (including 3 pitching in college now) graduated leaving a very young team, only 2 seniors on the roster this year. Similar situation as Plano West this year. With a year's experience and nearly everyone returning, I expect a bunch of the close losses this year to be wins next year.

Linedrive, you don't have schools the size of Plano's producing players like Hill, Swagerty and Rupp every year...let alone a tiny school like Prestonwood.
