When my son attended a Perfect Game showcase, the invitation included information about how a player might ask local businesses or individuals to help sponsor his expenses for the event by making donations directly to the player's family.
MN-Mom nailed it and TR is probably going to tell you the same thing, unless his organization has some other program. Sponsorships are the way to go. It'll take some effort, nothing's going to get handed to you, but there are ways to get it done.
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
