No knock on teams; because the local teams are very talented; so just curious. Many more of you know alot more than I do.

THanks.

Connie Mack World Series. Probably still is one of the best venues for HS baseball and always will be.

You play in this league to participate in the final series which for many is a once in a lifetime experience.

"You see, when you know you’ve done the best you can, worked as hard as you could, and played the game with passion…it’s hard to get too upset. They were content with their performance. We all knew we gave it our best effort. That’s baseball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains. Which brings us full circle to when we were excited in the spring." -Ken Guthrie

Very true words, and excellent perspective.   Enjoyed reading the article again.

Good luck to all the N. Texas teams heading into the CM State/Regional tourneys, and those who have already qualified for a trip to Farmington.

Heck in DFW; unless frozen ropes or Dbat; you aren't gonna be playing.
Don't see East Cobb or many other National power programs participating either.
Oh well; thought I would ask.
Good luck to the kids in their quest!!

East Cobb Yankees have been a main stay at the CMWS.

You don't see any national powerhouse programs?  Maybe because you haven't been.

The Midland Redskins are year in and year out the top 18U program in the country.  Period.

If your gonna ask a question, try to keep the bogus comments out.

Gonna crawl back in my hole now.  This place is still comedy central.

Just read Ken's article at the top of this post to get the feel.

Teams that compete in the Connie Mack in Farmington are best in the country for 18U.

Best I can describe it,  would be its the closest thing any ball player can have, atmosphere wise,  as college teams being in Omaha.

The Farmington people are what make it so special. Hosting families for the players open up their homes, taking them to the games, around town etc. It is an experience that they (players) will never forget and talk about still to this day.  Many former players still get holiday cards and notes asking how they are doing years after playing there.  It really is truly amazing.

For most, it's the last time a kid will play together with childhood friends.  Though they have had more great experiences after Farmington, the players I know have described the tourney as the best baseball experience of their lives.  My son was fortunate enough to go, but it was bittersweet. He would have rather gone with his team but they didn't qualify.  He said the atmosphere around the tourney was incredible.  The cops usher the team busses into town.  The players receive the warmest receptions once they get there.  It's a big festival.  That one week is almost like it's the towns reason for being.

Good Luck to Flo and the Frozen Ropes.  Good luck to all the local boys, even F'n Dbat.

To Texas Crude and OA5II,

Don't hate the player or the team.....Hate the game!!!  Our son was fortunate enough to have played in the Super Series World Series in Oklahoma at age 9/10.  Again he was fortunate enough to have played in the Elite World 24 World Series at Disney at age 13.  Then again very fortunate again to have guest played in the Mickey Mantle World Series at age 16.  Now he will be extremely fortunate enough to be playing in the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, N.M. beginning August 2nd.  Needless to say he is extremely excited and pumped to be playing in this prestigious event!!!  From what I have heard from others, this will be as close to being in the Show as you can get with the parade, bus ride, opening ceremonies and playing the host team in front of a crowd of 8-10k plus people!!!!  Can't wait for this event in a few weeks!!  And by the way, he is going with his team.....The F'n DBAT....

Hey, good luck to you too, and thanks for your kids resume.

SAFFMAB

Thanks for the kind words OA511.  We do feel blessed to have watched him play these past 8 or 9 years. As for for Texas Rude, I wasn't trying to give you his resume.  Instead I was trying to make a point of how hard it is to play in one Elite World Series much less 3 of them.  If I was giving you his resume I would have listed his accolades from playing 4 years of Varsity Ball....
