2 outs and a batter hits a ball to deep outfield. Outfielder leaps at the wall attempting to catch the ball. He comes down and holds his glove up as if he caught it and begins jogging in. Batter hasn't reached first, thinks the ball was caught and takes a right to go to the dugout.
The ball actually went over the fence but the runner is in the dugout. Is he out because he gave himself up?
