What kind of wood bat?

TP, the maples sure don't last as long as the bat manufacturers tell you they will last. If you can spend $100 get the Demarini composite maple. It is composite in the area between the handle and barrel where the bats always crack. AND, Demarini guarantees them for 3-months. I imagine with tryouts coming up within 1-mo and HS ball starting, you will get your money worth out of it. Good luck to the Sandburg FR. I Don't know i've always used maple. But then again to me they don't break that often. But i really am wondering about these bamboo bats they seems really intresting. But i mean hey if it breaks there is always tape lol.

My son got a long life with the Brett bamboo bat, for what it's worth.

Have had a Mizuno Maple and it hasnt broke yet in 6 1/2 months.

Are you looking for a bat just to take bp and that through out the winter or a game bat?

Thanks guys..rhbaseball, I'm lookin for a bat to use in BP and we have a tournament this year for the summer travel team. Not sure if I'll drop the big bucks for the wood, kinda depends if my step-dad decides to help me out on the money or not. I think if anything I'll just get this ash easton bat for 35 bucks.

I got a mizuno bamboo from www.bplowestprices.com(lowest wood bat prices I've seen). Its really sweet and hasnt broken yet, I've had it for 2 months.

I ended up gettin a BWP bat for 35 bucks on clearance at the local store. Hard maple and a nice feel to it. Plus I glued and taped my old one so now I have 2 haha.

imho bwp are the best. I got my first bwp in August and about 5-10,000 swings later it is intact.

i have a DBAT, and I LOVE it...but to tell you the truth, if you just hit a wood bat correctly, it wont break...no matter what kind...you must know how to hit with it, and make sure you dont get it off the handle
