I long ago found that you dont read anything into anything--just let the cards fall as they may especially when the boy is 13 years of age !

Of course you should read something into this. I would take it as an indicator that my son had some of the best talent at the camp. At thirteen his (and your) journey is just beginning. Have your eyes checked regularly to make sure you're not being influnced by rose colored glasses.
Plan ahead always looking for the best opportunity for you son. Be sure you see things as they are, not as you want them to be.
