What do most teenage girls about 18 years old want for Christmas? Things didnt quite workout between me and that last girl, but I found a better one. She's had some rough things with her parents happen, she turned them in for rehab for drugs. Not easy to do at all, but they appriciate it. I've kinda been her shoulder throughout all this and she's my girl. What is something that is special for Christmas, becuase her parents wont be able to do much this year, I'd like to though. Guys buy girls stuff all the time, thats how it is, but I want it to be perfect. Thank you ladies!

My son is doing something kind of cute this year for his girlfriend. He leaves a little something on her porch every morning before school. ( kind of inspired from the Twelve Days of Christmas song ).

One day it was a mug with cocoa packets in it and two straws with a promise of hot cocoa after a drive around the neighborhood to look at the xmas lights,...another day it was just a sweet note and a candy cane,... then another day it was a framed picture of their favorite photo, etc. etc. I'm sure you get the idea. Not big things,..just little thoughts to start her day off right.
The last day he is inviting her to go ice skating at the Plaza. ( he bought them matching Santa hats! ) Corny but cute!!!
Not big things,..just nice thoughts. So far,..she seems pretty darn happy! Its not really about the things they buy for each other, its about the fun times they share!

Man,..did I train this kid good or what? ha!
AK - Regardless of age or gender, it truly is the thought that counts. Recognizing something she's said by remembering it and acting upon it with a gift she doesn't suspect. Knowing what things she likes and perhaps planning a surprise around that will always be a winning thought. Has she mentioned "always wanting a ....." or does she comment about something her best friend has or is getting that she's always admired as well.

Sometimes a gift that centers around something you like but would like her to be a part of can send a romantic message. Maybe tickets to a game of your favorite team that you'd like her to learn more about. Only do that though if you think she'd sincerly be interested.... she's gotta to know you're just wanting to include her in your joys, not that you're being selfish.

If all else fails, jewelry may not be the most creative of gifts, but it's pretty much no fail. With this difficult period in her life, if she has a deep faith, a cross might be a very sweet thought for a present.

Just whatever you decide, give it with affection and genuiness and you can't go wrong. We all appreciate being appreciated!

Sounds to me like you've already given her what she truly wants...your friendship, support and love. Why don't you give her a recording of the Temptations "My Girl" with a nice little card with your thoughts written down on it.
What about a stuffed bear? You can tell her that it is for hugs and secrets etc... Sometimes when life gets tough its just nice to have somebody there that doesn't expect anything in return (not that you do but you get my drift) Teddy Bears give great hugs at any time. Find the most huggable, softest one you can or if you have them, Build a Bear at the mall could be fun--you could even go together and make a date out of it!

I did that already haha, the day after she told me when all of this happened. I like the 12 days of Xmas idea. She is visiting her parents in rehab, comes back soon and will bring them with her, so it wont be the full 12 days. I've seen the Zales TV ads, looks compelling, but thats too much haha. Build a Bear, this is Alaska we are talking about haha, I dont believe, well actaully we might have one. I give her hugs all the time, its pret nice. I've got some good ideas from you ladies, thanks and I know she'll love it. Sometimes just being there is the best thing. Bye and happy holidays. Oh and I'm really really close to getting a baseball scholarship too! Thats awesome, I'll announce it when I do, but this is a little sneek preview haha. Take care.
I went shopping today. Got her a mitten/scarf set and some of the other things mentioned. Hot chocolate mix in a coffee cup with hershey kisses and two candy canes glued together in a heart. a little fluffy white dog. Homemade brownies, a gift card I made redeemable for a date anywhere and at anytime. And the last thing was a little memo pad with a note in it of all the things I love about her, and its a notebook. We plan on watching the movie together soon too. I done good haha. Thanks you all, I know where to turn to for help!
