Wait, I just thought about that... It is possible the worst player on the best team could be better than the best player on the worst team. 
No brainer!! Be the best player on the worst team, quit, then sign on with the best team and be the best player on the best team!
I agree...being the best player on the worst team brings promise for the future. Being the worst accelerates having to buy tickets to see games.
Believe it or not i would rather be the worst player on the best team. Playing with people that are better than you makes you better. But if your the best on the team and have no competion you have nothing to shoot for.

PG makes a great observation though. It really depends on the depth of the talent.
Being the best player on the worst team doesn't mean as much if you have 8 other players nipping on your heals.
On the contrary, being the worst player on the best team is not as bad as it sounds if you are nipping at the heals of the other players on that team.
