I just got cut from my high school team. Long and complicated story, and it's nothing that hasn't been heard before, and nothing that I could do anything about. I have good grades, am a team player and I am a 2011 6' 185 pound RHP who throws hard with a lot of movement. I've had interest from a lot of so cal D1 schools and I want to keep playing. Any suggestions?

If you have interest from D1 programs you know where it came from and what to do. During the spring you should work with a pitching instructor who can help you improve more and get you ready for summer ball.

What high school cut you if you're a D1 prospect? I know the area. How are you are defining interest?

Sure. I go to a high profile school with a large and successful baseball program (nationally ranked in the top 20). This year was a "bubble" year for varsity. There were over 23 seniors trying out who were Varsity or JV players last year, not counting underclassmen trying out. The cuts went long and deep and there are a lot of politics too.
Historically, I had been inconsistent, but a new pitching coach changed everything. The "high school" go to pitching coach (not on staff at the high school at this time, but very influential, still) was "not pleased" with my coaching change nor with my success. Let's just say all of "his guys" made it at some level, and I didn't. I was seen by the colleges during the fall, and was throwing hard, and consistenly. I was clocked at 87 at WWBA 17U in Georgia, and from time to time at 91 in bullpens. My high school winter ball season and tryout all together consisted of 3 innings (over the last two months), 1 at the varsity level and 2 at JV. They had to make hard cuts, and judged me on my past because they feel they have enough talent to not have to give a guy another chance and my personal pitching coach choices probably were not approved of. Even at the JV level. This stuff happens all the time, and to good players at my school every year. I just want to keep playing and make the best of a bad situation.
Play: you've gotten some good advice... find a league you can get active in.. if you can find a team thAt you get a lot of innings in you might end up better off anyway.

For the life of me I don't know why an adult has to come on this website and tell a kid that just got cut that he doesn't believe the kid. I'm sick of posters that if it is or was their kid everything was perfect; if someone else the kid is probably lying
