I noticed a few 2014 grad kids have committed to colleges D1..how do you do that when i thought you couldnt even communicate at that age?

You can communicate when you are in diapers if you want...so long as you make the call.

i do see comments from the coaches on what they see in the kid..i guess they have to accept the comitt it would be embarrising to committ and they say..uh no thanks

I would say 99.9% of the time...a commitment is only made because an offer was made first.
Occasionally you hear about a kid that backs out of a 'commitment' (not a good idea in my house) or a school that backs out of one (not a good idea in anyone's house). But for now, that is uncommon.
Verbal offers can be made any time...verbal 'commitments' can be made at any time too. These are now happening earlier than ever in junior and even sophomore years. It is still not the norm, but is becoming more and more common.
