About 25 years ago.....I tried a play which I thought was legal. Runner on third steals home by slidingthrough the legs of the batter. The umpire called the batter out and sent the runner back to third. In NO way did the batter move. What is the call?

If there is a pitch, the batter is entitled to his position in the box, at least until the pitch ends. If it's a throw (F1 steps off), he has to make an effort to vacate the area if he has the opportunity to do so. Otherwise, it's INT - with less than 2 out, the runner is out, with 2 out, the batter is out.

Thanks there was a pitch and I argued ...not too much...but the call stood!
