2014 RP just had very good game against a very good team. Should he send an e-mail to the schools he has interest in with an attached new article of the game. With the college season in full swing, I'm sure the recruiting slows some. He wants to keep his name on the radar in a positive way, Has anyone done this and what were the results?

Thank you

I don't think one game really matters much when it comes to getting the attention of coaches. They are busy in season anyway and likely don't want to be peppered with one game updates. A couple of mid season updates as well as any playoff information would be fine. End of season awards and stats are also important. We all get so myopic when we are in recruiting mode (trust me all of us who have kids playing college were there)  that you need to put yourself in the coaches shoes and think about what they would want to get.

Good luck!

I would agree with what has been posted above. One game does not make a player. I would not send anything yet. What worked for my son was mid-season updates and end of the year updates. Traffic with emails really died down once the college season started during my son's Junior HS season. Then picked right back up once the season ended.

Most of what he did receive during the college season was team updates from the RC. They were not really addressed to him, more likely just addressed to players where there was some interest.

On the other hand, tell your son to keep up the good work and enjoy!

Sending one game probably isn't going to help your cause unless he did something extraordinary (no hitter, perfect game, hit a couple homers, hit for the cycle, etc....)

At the appropriate time, I would send combined milestone information such as high school game schedule & results (if it is a local school), summer travel schedule, grades and SAT scores to keep all schools fully updated. There are going to be schools that are interested in him, and schools that he is interested in.  Send them to both types of schools.  Always be trying to find new schools that fit your requirements and profile.

Remember....it isn't bragging if you can back it up!

I guess I should have explained myself a little better. I was thinking if sending the news to the four schools that have shown legit interest. And only as a way to keep him on their radar. I found out last night that one school already knew of the game and is planning to come by in person.

PGstaff stated if the school already knows of him to send the news article out. I guess that's my new question.

Thanks to all that have replyed

if you had a "home" base for recruiting like be recruited or the likes..you can post all the articles about him and then invite the coach to look at his videos kinda making sure he sees the positive articles as well.  just dont send the article with an email..send an invitation to his sight and make sure the coach pretty much has to stumble over it.

New updated numbers were posted this morning in NJCAA stats web site after weekend games, son is listed as the #1 pitcher for ERA in the nation !!!!!!!!

I'm going to bet you there are already a lot of schools that know about your son!

If you are looking to make a certain college aware, I certainly think it would be OK to send. He definitely has a body of work to show what he has done, and JC stats would be more appreciated then random HS stats.

PG must be wrong player you looked at:

JUCO DIV I,  ERA was 0.78,  pitched today against Crowder, ranked #1 team in Juco, he pitched two innings, 2 earned runs, moved up to 1.24, #12 now.  He is doing great regardless.  stats haven't been updated yet, still have him listed at #1.  Son's team beat #6 ranked twice, and now #1 ranked team, all is well in my world.
