Maybe it was the new appearance or the editors or competitive sites but there is a general lack of good converstion about high school baseball in Texas. There did tend to be a little too much advertising of "showcase events" but these were good for the boys. Indifferance from site management leads me to believe they are not interested in our world.

SpinZone, Yes I was there, the little woman let me out on the town, after I got done weed eating and mowing the yard and then knocking back about a half dozen cold beers I made the trip up to Copeland. It was a great game. Some great pitching and good defense. Also got to see the second baseman, between innings show off his arm when he decided to cut one loose and throw it at the Poteet players in the dugout with their backs to him. I'm sure it just slipped. Ha.That's probably the hardest throw he has ever made in his life. Probably had to ice his arm after the game and run some poles. Glad to see the hatred between the two teams has not died since they have been apart for a couple of years. Picked up right where it left off. Ha.

tychco, I'm here. We are headed to Oxford this Friday to cheer for little Beast and the Rebels as they take on the fighting Aggies. The game is on ESPNU Saturday night at 7 or 7:30. Watch for the solo cup races. Ha. Should be a tough series. Every series in the SEC is brutal no matter who your playing. No love lost between these two teams. Ha.Having a real job would suck.Ha.I miss the days when I would go to Big Spring and watch Tyler take BP. It was amazing to watch him launch ball after ball onto the dorms. That whole team was fun to watch take BP. There was 6 or 7 guys that would just hit bomb after bomb.Dozen's of scouts would show up just to watch Howard take BP. And this was the first year for the new bats. But Tyler's bat sounded so different than the rest.Little Beast told me about the time at practice's when they would turn up the Juggs machine to 99 mph and Tyler would hit the ball over the dorm, over the street next to the dorm and in the front yard of the house across the street.Give Mrs. tycho a big hug for me and tell Chase to get after it. Hope to see y'all sometime in the future. I miss your mom.

Don't know why there isn't much discussion on here anymore. Maybe the next group is not up for the nonsense. We used to have a lot of fun on here.

With soundtrack from "The Way We Were" playing in the background......

RockDad. You are right, It 'feels' different.

We need people on here getting riled up like the old days.

I miss info. from Funneldrill.

What has happened to us?

It was all so simple then.

Change the tune to "Let's Stay Together" from Al Greene

I refuse to give in. I will remain.

We'll get through this.

Let's stay together.

I'm still here.  Not on the site as much as I used to be.  I'm having more fun coaching now than I ever have.  I'm working on putting something together for unsigned seniors.  Hopefully more details to come in the next few weeks.

Coach,

You've done a great job with turning that program around.  I used to coach a couple of your guys in LL and their parents say that the effort that you put in is greatly appreciated, and the results show.

"golf clap"

I spoke to one of the UiL directors yesterday.  He told me that I can not run it and have kids from my attendance zone (even though they would be seniors that have no eligibility left) participate.  Well I'm not going to do this and not let my own players participate.

So, I'm trying to get a couple of friends of mine that are "in baseball" to come and run the combine.  If I can get at least 12 colleges to commit to attending, I'll post all the specifics here.  Right now I have 7 commitments from colleges.

How are they looking this season? Any district competition out there? Grapevine? Colleyville?

I support a team south of the metroplex where we just got running running water.  I jest about Southlake. Northern team envy I suppose. :-) Our team played both Grapevine and Colleyville...good teams.  No particulars for you though...both good close games.
