No baseball talk, and we are starting the 1st week of district. Where has everyone gone?

Was thinking that myself.
Maybe it was the new appearance or the editors or competitive sites but there is a general lack of good converstion about high school baseball in Texas. There did tend to be a little too much advertising of "showcase events" but these were good for the boys. Indifferance from site management leads me to believe they are not interested in our world.
Seems like less traffic since changeover of site. Not sure why.
Psst.....everyone is at the ballfield!
I made a thread earlier asking one prominent poster on the old site to post here. He no longer is active and I am surprised that others have not mentioned it.
Agree ... not the same!! Was at the HP/Poteet game tonite . . . Beast was there, too! 1-0 in 8 innings . . . 2 hits for each team . . . Coronado had 5 walks, 10 K's . . . Wilson had no walks, 9 K's . . . Battle 'til the end!! Baseball at it's best!!
Beast needs to go to Oxford and cheer for little Beast...or get a real job....Tommy, you out there???
My son graduated last yearis playing college ball but I still am interested in what is going on this site. I would agree that from my humble opinion there does not seem to be as much discussion.
SpinZone, Yes I was there, the little woman let me out on the town, after I got done weed eating and mowing the yard and then knocking back about a half dozen cold beers I made the trip up to Copeland. It was a great game. Some great pitching and good defense. Also got to see the second baseman, between innings show off his arm when he decided to cut one loose and throw it at the Poteet players in the dugout with their backs to him. I'm sure it just slipped. Ha.That's probably the hardest throw he has ever made in his life. Probably had to ice his arm after the game and run some poles. Glad to see the hatred between the two teams has not died since they have been apart for a couple of years. Picked up right where it left off. Ha.
tychco, I'm here. We are headed to Oxford this Friday to cheer for little Beast and the Rebels as they take on the fighting Aggies. The game is on ESPNU Saturday night at 7 or 7:30. Watch for the solo cup races. Ha. Should be a tough series. Every series in the SEC is brutal no matter who your playing. No love lost between these two teams. Ha.Having a real job would suck.Ha.I miss the days when I would go to Big Spring and watch Tyler take BP. It was amazing to watch him launch ball after ball onto the dorms. That whole team was fun to watch take BP. There was 6 or 7 guys that would just hit bomb after bomb.Dozen's of scouts would show up just to watch Howard take BP. And this was the first year for the new bats. But Tyler's bat sounded so different than the rest.Little Beast told me about the time at practice's when they would turn up the Juggs machine to 99 mph and Tyler would hit the ball over the dorm, over the street next to the dorm and in the front yard of the house across the street.Give Mrs. tycho a big hug for me and tell Chase to get after it. Hope to see y'all sometime in the future. I miss your mom.
Don't know why there isn't much discussion on here anymore. Maybe the next group is not up for the nonsense. We used to have a lot of fun on here.
I don't get on the site much since the look/feel changed. Just doesn't seem like the same old place that I knew. Don't care for the change I suppose. I was comfortable.
I agree with Rockdad. We just need to keep coming with opinions and questions.
Maybe Southlake will do something else with their lights and it will spur more activity on here.
With soundtrack from "The Way We Were" playing in the background......
RockDad. You are right, It 'feels' different.
We need people on here getting riled up like the old days.
I miss info. from Funneldrill.
What has happened to us?
It was all so simple then.
Change the tune to "Let's Stay Together" from Al Greene
I refuse to give in. I will remain.
We'll get through this.
Let's stay together.

I'm still here. Not on the site as much as I used to be. I'm having more fun coaching now than I ever have. I'm working on putting something together for unsigned seniors. Hopefully more details to come in the next few weeks.

Coach,
You've done a great job with turning that program around. I used to coach a couple of your guys in LL and their parents say that the effort that you put in is greatly appreciated, and the results show.

What type of UIL hoops does that entail. I would like to do the same thing, just not sure how to pull off some of the specifics.
I spoke to one of the UiL directors yesterday. He told me that I can not run it and have kids from my attendance zone (even though they would be seniors that have no eligibility left) participate. Well I'm not going to do this and not let my own players participate.
So, I'm trying to get a couple of friends of mine that are "in baseball" to come and run the combine. If I can get at least 12 colleges to commit to attending, I'll post all the specifics here. Right now I have 7 commitments from colleges.
Would you rather have a solid record going into district, then have an average district showing or bad record going into district then competing for winning district? Making the playoffs (if you don't win district) is a tough thing to do in most cases.

How are they looking this season? Any district competition out there? Grapevine? Colleyville?

I support a team south of the metroplex where we just got running running water. I jest about Southlake. Northern team envy I suppose. :-) Our team played both Grapevine and Colleyville...good teams. No particulars for you though...both good close games.
I wonder if more folks are using the messaging feature on the site thus not posting as much.
Monkeyboy- Who are you pulling for? A Mansfield team?
His boy plays for Midlothian, who is currently undefeated in district play. His kid is big, strong, throws hard, and hits well. Now Monkeyboy himself has no talent, (other than sperm donation of course).

E pitches tonight...pray for us.
