I can't watch young MLB ball players without wondering about their past. So just for fun, I looked up on PG all the players who made an appearance in yesterday's games -- on the Cardinals', Cubs' and Astros' rosters. I didn't bother with the old-timers unless they happened to show up.

So here's when they graduated, their PG scores and national ranking, if any.

I put more weight on the PG score than ranking. They all had the skill and ability but it is also about development and those 3 teams are heads above the rest in developing young players.

Interesting to note that Jeff Luhnow was somehow involved with many of these players.

As far as Rosenthal's ranking. Very talented he had some issues in HS and kicked off the team.

I saw Matt Carpenter when he was in AA. He was outstanding, however he was extremely small so that raised some questions.
