Where to sit at Turner Field

Sorry I can't be of much help. I haven't been to Turner Field this decade. I perfer to sit behind first base when I can, since I have much better vision than the umps and get a good view of the batters' strike zone as well as the close plays at first.

Get there early for BP and afterwards, before the game starts check out the joint. If you want a BP baseball, head down to the lower reserved areas by the LF or RF corners (I choose the LF side), but not too far back.

I believe you can see the museum somewhere in the basement during the day. Take pictures and post them here when you get back. And have a blast!

We live about 2 hours away so we usually get down a couple or three times a season. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. The only problem I've ever had is one time we sat in the right field corner and the view was partially obstructed by the foul pole. I've sat all over the stadium from the upper deck to the outfield to the seats behind home plate and that's the only advice I'd give you is to stay out from behind the foul pole.

I like to sit behind the plate at any game, but refuse to pay those kind of prices too. My son always wants the OF somewhere.... I guess he spent so many years from that perspective. When we went to see the Braves, we sat down right field also which were very reasonably priced, but before the foul pole Dad speakes of. They were great seats and gave a nice view of everything.

The only thing I didn't like about Turner Field was finding my way back to the interstate!

We always have a great time at Turner Field, win or lose. If you sit in the outfield, there are certain days when the tickets are buy one, get one free, I believe Wednesday is one. If you do sit out there, try to be in right field near the bull pen. The upper level tickets are very cheap, and if you can get front row, very good. The only place I've never sat was upper level, over home plate area, but I've never had a "bad seat" no matter how much I payed for my tickets. (For my son's birthday present, we got him front row, right next to the Braves dug out, so they will probably end up the best view ever!)


You are allowed to bring food in, but no glass, cans or alchohol, and it has to fit in a small bag. I normally bring a small backpack, and have enough sodas, snacks and sammiches for all, then just have to buy one little treat for the kids to share. That saves alot of money. If you will have little ones with you, check out the kids area, they have a blast.

I don't go to Turner Field much anymore, usually only when I manage to get free tickets or when the Braves are in the playoffs. (Either I'm your typical fair weather fan, or the head of a household dealing with the cost of raising kids and keeping gasoline in my vehicles).

Normally when I get comp tickets from a vendor they're club level down one of the baselines, or else behind the home dugout. Both of those are good options.

Cheap plug for my alma mater: If you've got time you might also think about taking in a Georgia Tech game, they're home this weekend and next. At $5 for adults and $3 for kids it's hard to beat, and any seat in the stadium would be at least $50 seats at Turner Field.

Last time I was there I sat in the Lexus section. It was upper deck down left field line and was covered. Had great food inside.

My number one favorite spot to sit is a few rows up from either dug out. Second, would be behind home plate. Believe it or not my 3rd favorite is a toss up between the Lexus section or the cheap seats in the outfield, and if I were pressured to make a choice between the two I'd probably take the cheap seats in the outfield.

Most anywhere in Turner Field is a good seat.

Here is an important tip…

Turner Field is not in the nicest, safest neighborhood. Make sure you park in the lot and don’t try to find a spot away from the field. If you do... You may never see your car again. I was parked in the hotel lot under a security light across from right field corner and came back to see a shattered window and lots of stuff missing.

Also while we were there, there was a good old fashion shooting between the bad guys and the police, right down the street at a KFC. You could hear the gun shots easily inside the park. We were later told… The bad guys lost!

Great place to watch a game, but be aware of the surroundings and play it as safe as possible.

We actually found a free parking space at what looked like a friendly public park about 3 blocks east of the stadium. When we returned, the car next to ours had had its windows smashed out. We were spared.

It reminds me of when I was in Atlanta for a number of work related classes in 1991. I made sure my education coordinator had a Braves schedule. I must have been to 20 or more games that year. At first, I could park at the front door, get a cheap ticket and sit anywhere. By the time the Dodgers came back to town at the end of the season, I had to park on the other side of the freeway, buy my ticket from a scalper, sit behind the right field foul pole and listen to the fans taunting Strawberry.

Too much fun!!!

And if you had been there prior to 1991, you could have parked in the players' lot and sat in the dugout.

A dear friend of mine moved to Atlanta in '87 and would go to the games whenever the Cards were in town. She said it was the strangest thing...quiet enough in the stadium that you could hear the players talk to each other!

I know, O. I went to many before '91. Plus, I think the beer was cheaper than at Cheetah's.

Where to sit at Turner Field? I asked my son that question and he said he wants to sit in between these three guys:
