Where to stay when playing at Ripken (Myrtle Beach)? | High School Baseball Web

Hi folks...been quite a while since I posted. Son is playing at Ripken week after July 4th. Any recommendations where me and the family should stay for the week? I'd like to avoid paying $2500-$3500...got another one starting college in the fall.

There is a KOA not far away. They have cabins and are in walking distance of the beach. We stayed there last spring, when son was doing spring trip to Ripkin. If you do not mind roughing it a bit it is very affordable.

Check www.vrbo.com for your dates. homeaway.com is good, too.

I did a quick check for July 5-11 and found a 3BR at Myrtlewood Condos for $1075. Check the condos at Barefoot Landing, too, which will have many different price points. These are not oceanfront, but have pools and close to everything.

We stayed for a week in Myrtle Beach (for a Triple Crown tournament) and I found a summer week deal on a 4BR condo on Kayak.com surfing the net during the Christmas holidays.

My recommendation, book something....then keep looking. But expect to pay $$$$ for oceanfront.

Caravelle Resort was reasonably priced and on the beach. Also located on the north end with less touristy feel.
