Many plus's and minus's to all facilities. I don't know much about Hawkinson Field, but attitude wise Kane County and the Flyers don't care much for the high school kids. Even though the high schools use the facilities the Cougars and the Flyers treat the kids poorly. The JackHammers went all out for the Pitch & Hit High School Showcase. Hopefully that continues..........
St Charles, I must disagree with you. The flyers have gone to great lengths to allow a game between OPRF and Fenwick to be played at the field on May 15th. They usually do not allow games after they have started their season. However, they were convinced that the two schools could draw a big crowd and they allowed a night game to be played. Just one man's thought.
I hate to say it since I love em, but the Hawk is terrible in comparsion to what pictures i've seen of Alexian and Elfstrom. Supposedly some renovations though with the new management. Also, they're no longer the Cook County Cheetahs, they're the Windy City Thunderbolts, or Thunder. I forget which name. But there are powerlines so close to the first base side that they couldn't build the upper deck on that side, so it looks really funny. I'd play there if i had the chance because it's a nice playing field, but the stadium is just hideous with the upper deck only on one side of hte field. I do believe that the double A state tourney brought out a better crowd than a Cheetahs weekend series. I hope the new management does something about that.
