I turn my back to the pitcher and don’t keep both eyes on him or the ball. My head moves around way too much, I take an over exaggerated step, I use an improper bat, I have a hitch in my swing, my hands are too low. Some say I have a “linear” swing, some say I have a “rotational” swing. Some say my arm is too bent and if I listened to all of the so called batting experts of today I would have never achieved my greatness.

Some food for discussion.

I get this email v-blog from Perry every month or so and thought this was interesting. You have to schroll down to the Babe section to see some of the videos of him. I was talking to a ex MLB coach about teaching hitting to kids and he was pointing out that with so many using video to analyize swings and compare them to MLB players that many lose the concept that they all can't hit like "fill in the blank MLB player" He also stressed that kids are all in various forms of physical development and to try to get them all to hit the same way was a huge mistake brought on by the video revolution. (not that all of it is bad)

You see a lot of that here with various posters arguing about minutia that has no reality to getting out and just hitting the **** ball.

Enjoy.
