Just thought this would be interesting to see everyones oppinions on this.

The top one in Texas right now is DBAT Mustangs...They have had 8 1st round picks in the last 3 years. Any team out there with more than that? They don't mess with the national scene a whole lot, but everyone in Texas would all say Dbat.

Whats everyones thoughts on other teams?! Who do I need to start watching. Just curious more about other parts of the country.

Probably the second best travel team of all time is Custer's 7th Cavalry. It took a combination of the Lakota, Cheyenne and Arapaho teams to bring them down. The Sioux all-star team was so disciplined they kept scoring and scoring on the hit and run. It was a large roster. To quote Custer, "Look at all those bleep'n Indians."

The best travel team was probably Patton's 3rd Army. They bombed the hell out of the Germans who had defeated everyone to that point. The only team to comeback and win a series against the Germans after being down big was the Red Army.

The best sc@ppy travel team of all time was probably the Far East Forces. They defeated the Nippons who refused to quit. They blew the Nippons out in the late innings. Their manager MacArthur even has his own dugout.

RJM,
Seems like Paulus surrendered in Stalingrad well before any major victories by Patton.

Just go back and see who has won at Jupiter the past few years. The 1st round picks for some of these teams can often be claimed by several different teams.

Some would even say that Rommel, a 1st rounder if I ever saw one, switched teams.

Don't know about Nationally, but here in central Ohio it would be the Ohio Elite. They always send a lot of kids to D1.

For Ohio in general it would have to be the Ohio Warhawks. They have had such players on htere team as Brandon Phillips, Roy Halladay, Pat Burrel and many others.

I think the folks down at Midland may argue with you a bit....lol. Midland's 18U team had 6 or 7 players drafted....not just signed with D1's.

I agree that Midland is much better than the Ohio Elite. I just know them because they are in Central Ohio. Just did not know for sure how they compare to the Ohio Warhawks. But both those teams are the cream of the crop in Ohio I will give you that.

Thanks for reminding me Big Grin

We played in a TX tournament this summer. There must have been 6-8 DBAT Mustang teams in the tournament. Some good, some not so much. I think they are sort of a franchise, or something like that.
