I would have much rather seen TCU vs Florida. And I would have loved to see Cincy play Boise State or Ga Tech. I think its a shame that Boise and TCU are playing each other. Dont like it at all.

I believe Alabama will roll Texas. I could be wrong.
Ohio State Oregon could be a great game. I like Ohio State
Florida over Cincy - Closer than people think
TCU will hammer Boise - I hope - TCU might be the best team in the nation
Iowa over Ga Tech
I'm calling

Alabama over Texas - I have no idea how this will go other than Alabama will win. I can see it a blow out but then again Texas isn't a bad team either.

Oregon over Ohio State - mainly because I hate OSU and think they are one of the biggest problems with the BCS when they were in the so called national championship games

Cincy over Florida - probably be a close one. Cincy struggled at the end because their defense was banged up. With an almost month and half wait for the game I think they will heal up.

Georgia Teach over Iowa - who really cares about this game? This game could be the least watch game out of the whole bunch.

TCU over Boise - I am hoping and praying this game will go down as one of the ages. I hope the other games are over with by halftime and so boring they put people to sleep and this game goes like 12 overtimes. I hope the two redheaded stepchildren step up to the limelight and make the rest look like chumps.
Coach I am with you on the Iowa , Ga Tech game. Two teams who are about as exciting to watch as watching paint dry. Of course the Iowa and Ga Tech fans will enjoy it. But outside of those fans who really cares?

I think its a shame that Boise State and TCU do not get the opportunity to play the big boys. I mean who wouldnt want to watch TCU go up against UF? Or Boise State go up against Cincy?

How exciting would it be to take the top 8 teams and play it off? It would rival NCAA March Madness if not over take it. I have no idea what the last poll had.

#1 Alabama
#2 Texas
#3 TCU
#4 Cincy
#5 Florida
#6 Boise State
#7 Oregon
#8 Ohio State

Is that about right?

So Bama vs OSU
Texas vs Oregon
TCU vs Boise State
Cincy vs Florida

Bama beats OSU
Oregon beats Texas
TCU beats Boise
Florida beats Cincy

Bama vs Oregon
TCU vs Florida

Bama vs TCU for NC

Thats the game I would love to see.
Every year at work we have a Collge bowl football pool. And I've got to tell ya this year is gonna be hard on some games.

I too think Bama will win as well as Florida. I'd love to see the Cincy kids win just to show their ex-coach what it could have felt like beating one of the big boys. I'm not so sure that TCU will win easily over Boise. This oughta be a hard fought game and one of the more exciting games to watch. I think they should have matched up Ga Tech and Iowa against either TCU or Boise. IMHO

I can't stand Ohio State so I hope they have after taste of duck in their mouths as they leave..lol.
I saw them play twice on TV not in person. Too far of a drive for me. I think TCU is the best team in the country and that includes Alabama.

I saw Texas three or four times. This is not a vintage UT team. This is a UT team that was in serious trouble against OU and an OU team that is not very good. Its the same team that was very very fortunate to beat an average Nebraska team.

Texas is undefeated and will play for the NC. And they might pull off an upset Mack can coach. I think Bama is better and will win but who knows.

I think Alabama , Florida and TCU are all better than Texas. But without a playoff it doesnt matter.

Ohio State got to the NC game several times with a good but not great team. Texas has done it this year as well.
I think its a shame that TCU and Boise have to play again this year in a bowl game. If I am not mistaken they played last year with TCU winning.

You may be right workinghard who knows. Anything can happen in college football and with the layoff some teams come out flat.

I think this may be the best coaching job Mack Brown has ever done at Texas. I saw where he just got a pay raise that will pay him a cool 5 mil a year. The highest paid coach in college sports.

That's almost a shocking statement to me, Coach May. I think Brown had a very average year coaching. He had a very weak schedule this year...pre conference they played no one, OU the played without their QB, Big 12 was down overall, Nebraska clearly shouldn't have been able to hang with them. Still, most of the year, Texas played flat half the game before kicking it in gear against inferrior opponents. And to top it all off, they dang near lost the Big 12 championship with the clock running out when they were in field goal position with a time out left. Texas fans do NOT think Brown had a good year.
The reason I say that Husker is I dont see this Texas team as anywhere as talented as teams he has had in the past. Yet they did something only a couple of BCS conference teams did. They went undefeated.

Believe me I am no Mack Brown fan. After all he left us TarHeels high and dry in the midst of a great run for Texas.

Georgia Tech has one of the best offenses in the nation IMO. Old fashion football sure.. but I'm not a big fan of the no huddle, coaches flashing millons of signs offenses really. For one thing, most of them should have a flag thrown on nearly every single play..
Coach,

I'm personally (and I know many others) not a big fan of Mack Brown as a head coach. I think he is a good players coach and a GREAT recruiter. Of course someone with an extra 5 million thinks otherwise and that's ok.

As far as who would make a better player in the pro's that was posted in another thread, I think Suh and OU's Bradford will have the biggest impact.
I don't think McCoy will make a good pro QB.
All just my opinion of course. Smile
Yes he was Husker. He had that program going bigtime before he left. Actually in the top 10 second only to FSU in the ACC at the time. He was the first guy that could get the home town boys to stay in state. There is some tremendous football talent in NC but the problem is most were leaving for out of state powers. Mack was known as a tremendous recruiter. The problem was he didnt like having to compete with Basketball at UNC. He wanted to be at a football school. He wanted alot of money to be poured into the program , new stadium , new facilities etc etc. He didnt want to play second fiddle to anyone on campus. He went where he knew football was and would always be king.
Yep. I remember watching the OU Texas games and hearing where all the players were from. There were just as many starters from Texas playing for OU as there were for Texas. In a state like Texas if you can keep your studs at home and get them to play for you thats all you need to do to be really good.

In North Carolina there is UNC NC State WFU Duke and ECU. If a school can dominate in state and not lose those guys to out of state powers they can be really good. Not Texas good but really good. Now if they can get a couple from TN , SC , VA etc then they can be darn good. Mack was doing just that.

They say the Longhorns schedule was weak this year but going undefeated and going thru the Big 12 season is not an easy feat no matter how you cut it

Hey, I'm a Big 12 guy...and that comment would be 100% true in most years. But it simply wasn't true this year. Other than Texas, it was a very weak conference top to bottom this year. Compare Texas' strength of schedule to TCUs...TCU is actually a little stronger last I saw. Considering TCU played 2/3rds of their games in the Mt. West and Texas played 2/3rds in the Big 12. It basically says there's not much difference between the two conferences this year.

I'm struggling about who to root for in the championship game.

I don't care for Alabama but the team I follow, Utah, is the last team to beat them and that is cool to say.

I like Texas a bit but Mack Brown turned me off big time when he said a non-auto qualifying team should never play for the national championship and if they did it would be "demeaning". I think he was worried that TCU was getting too much attention and knowing his team might not even be the best team in Texas.

Based on their conference championship game performances Alabama looked much better but that doesn't determine who wins the upcoming game.
