Mike is my assistant this year at Marcus. He has been invaluable to me in this first year of transition. My coaching style and personality is quite different from the former coach here...not saying or never have said it is better, just different.

Mike has adapted well to my style of coaching and my style of dealing with the kids. Mike is a very capable coach. Sure, he will have a learning curve since this is his first head coaching position, but he will adapt quickly...just like he has this year. He has a good baseball mind and is the hardest working assistant I have ever had, and I have had some good ones. He will no doubt carry this work ethic with him to Byron Nelson HS. I highly recommended him for this job even though I hate to lose him here.

Mike has worked for 2 head baseball coaches at Marcus, but he is his own man. I can only speak for this year, but he has done right by the kids here this season. The kids like and more importantly respect him. At our senior day last Saturday, there were many "salutes" sent his way by the seniors.

If you want to see him in action, come and watch us Thursday, Friday and Saturday if necessary. Form your own opinions based on what you see, not what I or anyone else says.

I heard that as well a few weeks ago, but I guess not. I never really heard what happened, if anything.
