One of the many joys of watching Our Albert play is his consistency (granted, he's off to a superb start this year):

2001 HR:37 BA:.329 OBP: .403 SLG:.610
2002 HR:40 BA:.314 OBP: .394 SLG:.561
2003 HR;43 BA:.359 OBP: .439 SLG:.667
2004 HR:46 BA:.331 OBP: .415 SLG:.657
2005 HR:38 BA:.330 OBP: .430 SLG:.609

Another joy is his delight in playing the game. He is a 'kid' of 26. He's the first one out of the dugout to congratulate a teammate --- like sweeping up Eckstein after a successful squeeze play or celebrating 'for' the stoic Rolen after their back-to-backs.

The guy's pretty much earning his spot Wink
I agree Pujols is great.

I do want to mention Chris Shelton who is from my general neck of the woods. The Tigers are getting a lot of bang for their bucks so far.

BA .471 HR 9 RBI 17 in 13 games and a salary of "only" $365,000.

Yea, I know, the season is early and he has a long way to go to match Pujols' consistency and performance, but I am going to rooting hard for him all year long.
