Sorry Mr. Poster. I can't chooses from these conferences. I can list my top 10 from each of the 4 classes, but I may mention a few programs you might never have heard of.

Baseball is a different game. Once one understands that, they stop pigeon-holing conferences.

How bout I tell you each of these conferences in your POLL each have nice players, as well as the other conferences!!

Before seeing the index, from living in Big East/A10 country and doing some research on the SoCon in the past, I would have given the Big East a slight edge and willing to concede a toss up.

The A10 is much inferior. There are some real weak teams in the A10. Unfortunately three of them are teams we could watch. Saint Joseph's home field is a joke. It's a beat up town rec field in a questionable area. Temple used to have a very good program.

I hope you're not looking for colleges by conference. You have to look at school's individually. There are successful programs in weaker conferences that play quality out of conference schedules. For example, last season UNCC of the A10 played non-con games against several ACC programs and other quality southern programs. But before you do all this ... Is it the right school academically? Is it the right school socially? Is it the right school if baseball is taken away (cut, injured, quit)? Is the school an acceptible distance from home?

That is a great reply.

The so-called power conferences each year have teams that struggle while the other conferences, many of the "mid-majors" have teams that can beat anybody.

You mentioned the Big East. Go to the Louisville baseball website. Coach Mac arrived there in summer of 2006 replacing Coach P, who left for a Florida program. Compare the roster changes, read the news archives leading up to the start of the 2007 season.

You will find the new regime replaced about 17 players via cuts with transfers and JUCO signings, and the result:

A trip to the CWS.

What if they used that formula at a SunBelt Conference school, or any other "smaller" conference receptacle program ??

Each year the players are different, ever-changing, as well as some coaches.

You have to ask yourself, what is it you are trying to achieve in college baseball?

Draft exposure ?
CWS opportunity ?
Conference Title ?
1st class instruction ?
The Limelight ?
Playing for a certain Coach ?

Those are viable reasons regarding the overall baseball FIT.

What are the odds you will get a reasonable sample of opinions of comparing all three conferences on a message board? Let me answer for you. No chance in a million years. RPI is all there is. That was your question, before you added "I know what RPI says, but blah blah."

There is no answer other than RPI. Ask yourself. What person watches three conferences of college baseball all year? Nobody. Sorry to bother answering the unanswerable question and wasting your time. You won't even find an umpire that has worked a game in each in the last 5 years. Your lack of understanding of college baseball is evident. Jeez Louise!!!!!!!!

To be honest it's kind of a strange question. If someone asked posters to choose between the ACC, SEC, Big12 and Pac10 for instance, I'd see a general college baseball fan question about the best conference from a fan standpoint. But you chose three conferences that would be a strange selection other than your son is looking at these three conferences. Given this I would have stated so, maybe mentioned which schools, or maybe asked another question which I will start a thread on, because I'm curious to see people's views.
