I will be there are you related to colliker? If so, I have PM'd her my cell and how to find me. If not PM me and I will send it to you as well.
Look forward to meeting you and I hope to be staying warm in the concession stand or doing the scores, not a cold weather person but won't miss the game........ penguinflap Heck if we played at Duncanville last Saturday and those were the WORST conditions ever we will be playing tomorrow for sure.

I
Great, she has the info. and we will see you tomorrow dialog and congrats clapto your son on making Varsity, what an outstanding accomplishment!

see you tomorrow.

Texan: game was moved from Saturday to Friday and boy wouldn't it had been nice to be tonight...... lightbulmaybe because we have a big booster club function tonight so that could be one of the factors why not tonight.

lew,
Thank you...........
The team is coming together and should be a good season.... Our coach has a way of getting these guys to "play".......and the new pitching coach has really added to the depth of our pitching staff............

Hope to meet you as well........what position does your son play so I can watch for him as well. It has been so cool this year to be able to watch/know players on the teams we play, brings a new dimension to the game except when I find myself cheering clapping on those I know and then get myself in trouble for cheeing on the competition........ nervous

We don't have any such excuse for our game. Nothing but practice scheduled for today.

Most definitely NOT baseball weather. Mad

Seems like with a little foresight they could have moved the game up to tonight. Confused

If they scrimmaged Tuesday night, then it would be against UiL rules to scrimmage tonight. The kiddos can't play 2 "games" on school nights (Monday-Thursday). Now a game on Tuesday and tournaments on Thursday are OK!

Try to figure that one out!
Funneldrill,

Guess that is another reason (UIL) we aren't on schedule for tonight.........darn the weather.......................

Lew: will be looking for you.

Texan: guess it is hard to be P.C. when it comes to metroplex baseball and when you have been around select ball for a couple of years. Really is a small, small baseball world, fun to see familiar faces in players and parents..........

Nothing like a bureaucracy, eh?

How about if they just play tonight, but we leave the schedule alone? Just started a little early, that's all... Wink
What are the Baseball Gods thinking: pull_hair

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

FREEZING RAIN WILL BEGIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH PERIODS CONTINUING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON. SOME SLEET MAY ALSO OCCUR BEGINNING SATURDAY AFTERNOON. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OVER ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET ARE EXPECTED THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS. pull_hair

Pending approval from my administration, we are moving our Saturday scrimmage with Mesquite to Monday at 3pm.

I have to get approval to play that late on Monday due to TAKS testing the next day. We are out of school, so we could play early, but the Skeeters are not.

I invite all to come out to DeSoto anytime to watch me jump through hoops on a daily basis!!!

Oh, and as for following the rules...well...let's just say that I have seen fellow coaches get burned because of not being so careful. If we are going to lose, it's because we did not get the job done on the field...not because the head coach makes idiotic decisions off the field (of course the on field idiotic decisions are another story and should be discussed in another thread).

Stay Warm baseball4

Was just kidding about breaking the rules, FD.

Given yesterday's 85 degrees and today's forecast, that "early start" sure would have been nice though. Wink

I know you were kidding. It is just that it seems like I jump through so many hoops on a daily basis, that sometimes, it gets frustrating because it takes my focus off of where it should be...with my kids.

Still though, there is nothing else I'd rather be doing...no matter what the weather is.
