Being proactive is a widely agreed upon "tactic" so i have a question.  My son (2016) is going to a few showcases / camps  this summer (headfirst and Stanford). he has sent out a few introductory emails to coaches that are scheduled to attend and has received some responses. As he moves forward with sending out a few more he has come across a few schools that have a recruiting director or head of recruiting listed on their website. In those cases is it more considerate to send the email to that person even though they are not scheduled to be at the events (or at least not shown to be) or bypass them and send to coach attending?

thanks in advance

Wondering how  common/uncommon is it for coaches to reply to such e-mails?

My guy has sent a fair number of e-mails to most of the places he has targeted.   Has  gotten some responses and had a few good back and forth exchanges.  But mostly no response one way or the other.  Seems like about a third of the coaches have written back to him in one way or the other -- sometimes, though, just  to invite him to a prospect camp.

Is the rate of 1/3 actually  responding about par for the course?
