I believe the winner of the FC/Cox Game will win the tournament....however, don't count Kellam out just yet.....

OL will pitch their #1 Pitcher on Tuesday and will have to pitch their #3 (if they win) most likely Thursday.....so their #1 is ready for the Regionals next Monday against WB/Grassfield/Indian River which will mean a match-up against Thompson, Cox, or Ali......this will be a game to see.

Well I am sticking to my pick. Did anyone see the cox/OL game? OL pitched their #1 and cox beat him by 10. Cox had 2 big hr's by Cody and Chase if I recall. Cox has studs from lead off all the way to 9 they hit. Nobody else has a better 3..4..5 Baily, Zack and Chase all 3 400 plus hitters. OL does not impress me at all. FC however has a great club. Bowman is a great pitcher and they also have great bats. Not sure their names, but I watched both FC games and they should be the number one seed in the beach. Cox #2 and OL #3. Thats just how I see it. OL has 1 pitcher and cox took care of him quick.
saipanwarrior, clearly you have a son or a tie to OL so I WILL RESERVE any harsh remarks. OL does not have the hitters or the pitching to get out of regions. Not to say Cox or FC does, to be frank I am not a fan of fc. I grew up hating them so for me to say they are number one in the beach was humbling. It comes down to pitching and hitting and none of the teams have enough to make any noice in the playoffs. But all around I give a bump to COX they have toooo many kids that are big and hit. They just lack in the pitching dept. Prediction COX to Regions with an outside chance to repeat. OL gets beat in round one of regions.
I have to agree with Datababy on this one.
In watching Cox it is totally apparent that they should be the team dominating the beach. They have size, they have athletes, they have all of the kids that have had the opportunities for all of those private lesson, etc. their whole life. Without spending an entire afternoon looking through rosters, it would be my guess that they have the most upperclassmen on their team.
The question now would be, why aren't they dominating the beach? For example, they were held to only a few hits against a soph. pitcher from Kellam. They still won the game, but on errors, not offense.
Even on Saturday, my thought was still, why isn't Cox the stud team this year? Your guess is as good as mine! Maybe cause they don't have a Dubois or a Laveigne, what do you think there Datababy?
Actually Data - I have no association to any school....and if I did, I would have more association to Cox, since Coach Conroy is my daughter's PE Teacher.

You are basing your opinion on your loyalty to your school, which is okay. However - you can't judge teams on potential at the end of the year - we are 21 games into the season. Before the season, Cox and FC were without a doubt the favorite.....but OL out performed them for the season - period. Now, both Cox, FC, and Kellam have to prove they belong.
Wow...Datababy, you need to tone the bravado down a bit. OL won the season title outright and deserves to go to the Region tourney. Since I'm sure you were probably watching the Falcons the majority of the year, I'm guessing your assessment is based on seeing OL, at best, one or two times. Anyone that follows baseball knows that it is very hard to judge a team based on such limited DATA.

As for Cox, IMO they have far exceeded the expectations that most had for them coming into this season. They do have a lot of upperclassmen, but after losing seven very good seniors, I believe they returned only 3 everyday starters. Obviously Bailey was a huge addition, but I don't think a whole lot of teams could have that kind of success in what was expected by most to be a rebuilding year. Kudos to Coach Conroy, his staff, and their dedication to the program
datababy,

I've seen every team in the Beach this year and OL is the best, IMO. They swung it better than everyone else. They have 2 solid arms in Morimando and Clement, which are better than Cox's top 2. They play solid defense. Heck, I've seen Spedden win without offense in years past. So, they have solid leadership as well.

They won't sit their starters in the Championship game. They will throw Morimando against Kellam. If they make it past Kellam, they will throw Clement or their #3 in the Championship.

As for Cox, you may want to tone it down a little. You aren't being rational at all, even though you've experienced so much in your baseball career.

I'm new to the Beach District but you Cox fans (for the most part) are unbelievable.
Data - if you make it to the championship game (against OL), you will not pitch your best either (unless your opponent is Kellam)...and will be careful as well - that game will only be for bragging rights....your opponent in the region is already set to be Great Bridge and I'm sure they will have someone watching that game. However - one game at a time - FC will have something to say about the outcome of your season.

Just go back one year and see what happen to your starting catcher going into the region tournament.

I've made about 5 or 6 games, including both FC games. Guess you missed me...hard to say for sure since you have chosen to remain anonymous.

Sure, I've read some of the other posts here and have responded when I felt it was warranted, but what you fail to realize is that criticizing other teams does not make Cox look any better... in fact, it (unfairly) sheds a bad light on Cox fans in general. You are certainly entitled to your opinion as to who the best team in the Beach is, but why not state why you think they are the best rather than try and bring down other teams? Better yet, why not let the play of the team speak for itself?
FC has the solid infield and the defense that will
lead them past cox. They have the mental strength in
the infield to be solid. They have won this year with defense not offense. They do have 4 good pitchers that makes for a good rotation. The bats came out Sat and they did make a statment. I think the top 8 hitters are solid and will play their game on Tues. They play for each other and are all on the same page. The catcher has come in strong to replace Boyce and has impress me 100% this year.
I give FC the advantage.......Bowman on the mound gives him the most athletic infield to get the win. They have also played with injuries and still managed to take 2nd place. They have played serious ball and play to win!!!!
