Sorry CD, but you're nuts. Texas has more athletes than both these teams. Hook 'em Horns!
We can only hope that the Texas/Nebraska game is as good as the Cincy/Pitt and Gator/Tide games

Maybe I got carried away but you are nuts to suggest that Texas has more athletes than both these teams combined
I like Texas but it seems preordained that they beat Nebraska. Florida and Teebow already have two National titles. I like Colt McCoy but he is still looking for his first title.
I like them all! I LOVE college football, so much more than the NFL. McCoy-2-Shipley is pure magic!! GED10DaD
It appears that even Superman cannot win this game today.
CD
Are you saying Tebow is SUPERMAN?--no way
I do not see him as a pro QB either

What we are seeing today is a TEAM beating a one dimensional offense (Tebow.) Bama is well balanced across the board, on both sides of the ball. Running, passing, secondary, d-line you name it. Hats off to them and their approach.
I think the biggest difference is having a solid Heisman candidate that is also not the quarterback. It would be nice to see him win the Heisman.

Of course I do not believe that TR. Tebow's nickname at Florida is Superman however. I could see Tebow being a fullback in the NFL.
Tebows future is trying the NFL and then returning to Florida to coach. He already attends ALL coaches meetings.
Tebow would only be good for someone who plays his game, remember Urban built that team around him. The player with the DUI hurt as well.
Kudos for Bama for going after him, good game plan. I like the bama boys but Saban makes me sick.
FWIW, word is out Urban wants Tebow as a coach, what mother wouldn't want their son to play with him?

You got that right.
Nobody probably should feel sorry for Tim Tebow as he has probably won more than any player will likely ever win. Seeing the tears in his eyes roused my own emotions. I know that whenever my son has lost his last game, his eyes looked exactly like that.
The boy cries to easily and I bet he cannot get away with wearing his "special" eye black in the pros
Nothing wrong with that eye black in my book. With players dancing and strutting and all that nonsense, especially at NFL level, a guy making a positive statement with his eye black is a pretty good thing. He's a great kid but the media at times has gone overboard.
hokieone
I think Tebow has gone overboard as well-- sometimes you have to wonder regarding his marketing

Putting scripture on eye black would be considered non standard equipment in the NFL.quote:Nothing wrong with that eye black in my book.
Before the outcome of tonight's game I'll say Texas is winning the championship. They rolled teams all year.
Agreed. Heck they don't even allow droopy socks...

I am with you CD, Tebow is a passionate player. That's why he's a winner. My own son has cried, when he won to go to Omaha and when he played and lost his last game. I wouldn't expect anything more from players that play with passion.
I am not from his faith, but I have no issue with his eye black and verses. Did anyone see the story about him today regarding the young player he honored after his death, his parents asked him to speak about him. He's been an inspiration to many and will continue to do so. With all this stuff about players being out for themselves, it's refreshing to see it from a different point of view. He gets lots of intention fronm the media, that's not his fault, but it's positive and that is what counts. IMO.

I disagree---if he were not wearing the eye black with the biblical notes there would be no media attention---he and his "people" know how to market him and have done a great job---the look on his parents faces at games end had the look of someone watching millions of dollars evaporating right before their eyes

You don't know him from the man in the moon. Sounds like one big case of jealousy here. He will go down as one of the greatest collegiate football players of all time.
I'd love to know where you're coming from to be so disparaging in your remarks. Man, why the anger and hate?
