First timer on here.

I think many may have to watch out for the sleeper cell of the beach Landstown. Landstown has some kids that have the potential to score many runs and have especially have a strong player on their team that plays SS, first name Nick. They will be the sleeper cell of the beach. They will scrimmage Wilson at 6:00pm Wednesday. I heard a kid from Texas was transferring in there mid March and is suppose to be another kid like Bishop at Kellam...anyone know if that is a fact?

Here is the VHSL eligibility rule regarding transfers.

28-3-1 ENROLLMENT RULE-The student shall have been regularly enrolled in the
School which he/she represents not later than the fifteenth school day of the semester.

We are past the 15 days, so according to this rule, it’s too late if transfer students is starting mid/late March. Hopefully he is not a senior or there is some exception to the rule that is in the works.
Nick and Faison are the same person, Its Nick Faison. Nick has been playing ball here in VB for a number of years and is a good player. He does pitch or at least has pitched over the years. He is an extremely hard worker and solid kid. His Dad played pro ball so good genes. There are two outstanding Nick shortstops in the beach district this year Nick Faison and Nick Walker(Kellam). Another quality shortstop is Hunter Davis(PA). I don’t know all of the other SS but these three are good. I believe all 3 are also juniors.
Those who follow the Beach District know all the talented players like the sinnen brothers, bishop, staksy, Newman, and the list goes on, but who are some new players that could have an impact for their team? here is a few that i saw play this past summer,
Mark Jo,OF at PA,good power
Brad Dean, INF, Cox, good power, big and strong,
Devonte Bivins, Salem, can pitch alittle, hits with power.
Cory King, INF, Bayside, good Build, athlete,
Will Callahan, OF, PA, senior who knows how to hit,
and there are others and I think Joey Brown will be good at FC and HUNTER DAVIS form PA could project to an ACC type player,
who else?
I agree Pilots, some others are, the Long brothers from Bayside, both excellent on the mound, Trujillo from Salem can absolutely hammer the ball, Koonce from Ocean Lakes I think will surprise a lot of people, and the Tallwood kid, sorry can't remember the name but plays SS and pitches, pitching is where he will be good. The brown kid from FC is he a freshman? I can't remember who any other SS in the beach but I think we have named who the stand outs are, Walker, Faison, and Davis. anybody else?
Called VHSL for my friends dad today and was advised he would be eligible immediately upon his confirmed address in the particular area, registration with the school and grades are within the 2.0 beach GPA average and passing 5 classes, based on him moving from TX. He is a JR, 6'2, 195. Thanks for the help Pirates with the reply or I would not have looked into this. It is great to know that there is an exception as in this case vs peanilizing the kid for a parent re-assignment.

Larry,

Both Ferrante and Hinton are primary outfielders, although Hinton plays some first base as well. Both have at least dressed varsity since their freshman year.

Both have similar qualities. Both are fast, although Hinton is extremely so. Both have excellent outfield arm velocity, with Ferrante having the better of the two. Both have outstanding bat exit speed, Ferrante's measured at 95MPH, with Hinton in the low 90's as well. Both spray the ball to all fields with power. Ferrante hit about .320 last year, Hinton about .300.

And found out today that Hinton was named as a Perfect Game Honorable Mention "All Atlantic".

Thanks for the info. Does your kid play on this team? I see the kids play maybe once a week and dont know any of their names, only from a program I got there back in May for the yearly tournament there. I have followed Landstown for about 4-5 years because I live in the Landstown High zone and enjoy going to the games because of a short drive and they are the only school that has night games to my knowledge? I only became a member on here to find out some info for my friends son who is in Texas and was moving here. They were to be reassigned to va beach and found a house in the Landstown High School zone. I found out tonight that the son is staying to finish his Junior season in Texas. I am glad I did not talk with the coach personally other than an e-mail back in November and at that, I was very vague with my e-mail to hime because I was not 100% sure If he was coming here with his parents or staying. Do you know the coaches full name, if not I can re e-mail. I spoke with one coach in the fall but did not know if he was the guy because he was doing the scorebook..the one missing a tooth?

appreciate it
