A college program is going to recruit players they believe can hit at that level. Does he hit gappers and homers? Or does he run like the wind? If he's a defensive liability he has to be that much better as a hitter than anyone else who might be recruited. I would see the biggest issue being he can only be projected at one position. He better be a stud at it. Keep in mind there are many levels of college baseball. Chances are he fits in at some level.

Just using this post as an example ....

In some of the posts in a few threads today the responses seem to relate to an assumption every poster on board has a son/player who is a top shelf college/pro prospect. I have no idea about the original poster's son. But not every high school DH is a top shelf stud.

There are several levels of play for a player to fit into college baseball. Thunder would be relative to that level.
